Mutual Fund Services Provider Expands Distribution Capabilities For Investment Managers

Ultimus Fund Solutions, an independent provider of mutual
fund services to the financial industry, has expanded its fund distribution
services for investment managers. The firm’s offering now includes advice and resources
throughout each step of the fund distribution process - from product design
and positioning through distribution channel recommendations and relationship
building. “The expanded service offering is designed to help managers
make more strategic distribution decisions and stand out in what has become a crowded
and hyper-competitive landscape for assets as more alternative managers
introduce strategies in the retail marketplace,” the firm said. Ultimus has also named industry veteran Kevin Guerette as vice
president and director of distribution strategies. Guerette has 15 years of experience in the financial
services industry and a significant background in the mutual fund industry. Specifically,
he has detailed knowledge in the area of distribution for both smaller managers
and series trust clients. Guerette latterly served as the national sales
manager of platform sales and national account director at SEI Investments
Distribution Company. “With alternative investment strategies becoming more
prevalent in the retail space, the landscape has become crowded and managers
need every advantage to stand out with intermediaries and gain greater distribution,”
said Bob Dorsey, co-founder and managing director at Ultimus. The distribution strategies team will also provide
additional services such as review of materials for FINRA requirements and
on-site compliance for qualified employees of investment advisors, the firm
said.
